Benn fought three times in 2021 and was set for a busy 2022 until he failed multiple drug tests. Due to “very high egg consumption”, UKAD suspended Benn. Maintaining his innocence, Benn has sought a way to compete, resulting in his recent world tour of America. He returned to action in September, beating Rodolfo Orozco in Florida. If all goes to plan, Eddie Hearn will look for Benn to fight often to make up for lost time.
“It’s going to be part of a very busy period for Conor Benn,” Hearn told match room through Essentially sports. “So we are already in talks with some big names in April, but he has to come through Dobson. “We want to keep him nice and busy.”
Dobson, born in the Bronx, turned professional in 2014. He has won nine fights by knockout, his last victory via power punch coming in 2021. The 33-year-old last fought in June 2022, beating Rodrigo Damián Coria by unanimous decision.
