Alexander Volkanovski has had a target on his back since winning the UFC featherweight title in 2019. “Heavy is the head that wears the crown.” However, Volkanovski is always calm, collected and collected in the octagon. His skills and willpower will be put to the test when he defends the title against Ilia Topuria at UFC 298 on February 17.
UFC 298 will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The event airs on ESPN+ PPV in the US.
Volkanovski is 13-2 with the UFC since joining the promotion in 2016. He beat Max Holloway three times, winning featherweight gold in the first clash. The Australian has successfully defended the belt five times. He has attempted to hold gold at lightweight, failing twice. After a knockout loss and years of suffering damage, the 35-year-old looks to retain his title as he proves his detractors wrong.
“I love all these narratives,” Volkanovski said via MMA addict. “Everyone knows I thrive in these moments. When people doubt me, it’s the best.”
