How to make text appear when clicked in Canva

Presentations in Canva are relatively easy to make. However, the platform lacks some of the more advanced features common to other presentation creation tools like PowerPoint. This includes advanced animations and pop-up text on slides.

How to make text appear when clicked in Canva

Canva does not have a default option that allows text to appear when clicked. But you can play with the available features to develop a detailed presentation that emulates this feature through subtle slide changes.

First, you’ll need to set up your presentation for a foundation:

1. Open Canva and go to “Presentations” in the search bar. If you’re starting from scratch, choose a template you like. If you already have a presentation that you want to edit, select it from your existing layouts.

3. If necessary, remove any excess layout or elements from the slide.

You can also do the previous process in reverse. For example, if you already have a slide full of information but you want to separate it, you can duplicate it to separate the text.

Let’s say you want to start with a block of text and add an additional block for each click. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Select the page you want to duplicate.
   
2. Use the Duplicate button at the top right as many times as there are blocks of text on the slide.
   
3. Go to the first slide and delete all the design elements except the first block of text.
