How to create a form in ClickUp on a PC
To create forms on your computer, you will need to get a paid plan. There are also annual and monthly business plans with many unlimited features. A free option can also be arranged. However, guests will only be able to modify existing forms with proper authorization.
Creating a form
There are two options for creating a form. One from the sidebar and one from the list.
This is how you can generate your form from the sidebar:
- First go to the “ellipsis…” button.
- Use the “Create new” option. Press the “Form” button.
- Now your form has been added to the sidebar and you can open it.
- Feel free to rename your form, depending on the title you want. The name change will take effect immediately.
To add your list form view, follow these steps:
- Go to the List and select the desired option.
- Select the “View” option to open the list of task views to be added.
- Scroll down to the form, then click “Add View” to your list and you can see a blank form.
- Next, you need to give your form a title and the name will be saved immediately. You should also add a description to describe the purpose of your form.
- You can also use fields from the “Task Fields” p. Here’s how you can add critical information to your forms, such as attachments and a start and expiration date.
- After doing so, you will be able to share your form publicly. You can also turn off this sharing option by pressing the “Toggle Active” button in the top right corner of the screen. When you do this, your sharing option will be disabled, but you can change it at any time.
Fields you can add to the form
On the left side of the screen, you’ll see two types of fields: task fields and custom fields with various text, labels, and labeling options. After you add a new custom field to your form, the platform is programmed to add that field to the field where your form exists (List, for example). Some custom fields may become hidden fields and will not be shown to users submitting your forms. They are used as a storage place for information that is already there.

When it comes to “custom fields”, there are several ways to modify your form. You can modify the information and have a personalized form by changing the Avatar photo or the theme color on the form itself. Once your form is ready to be submitted, you may want to check how it looks in view mode. You are now ready to share your form. Depending on who you want to share it with, ClickUp offers a few options.
- If you want to share your form inside or outside of ClickUp, press the “Copy link” button and share it directly.
- There is also a “Share” option to share your form using the HTML code. All you need to do is hit “Copy Code” and share it via the embed code option.
- If you want to share your form with your coworkers, you need to go to “View,” click the “Embed” button, and paste the link there. After you press “Add View”, your form will be submitted.

How to create a form in ClickUp on a mobile device
First of all, you will need to download the free ClickUp application for your mobile phone. You will find it in the App Store or in Google Play. There are two versions of the application. Make sure you download the latest version, the one with the white background, so you can use the newest features.
As your mobile phone screen is relatively small compared to your desktop computer, some ClickUp features will not be available. For example, instead of creating, editing, and applying templates, you can only edit custom fields in your ClickUp mobile app. It is also impossible to add a new custom field here. Therefore, some ClickUp features are limited. Still, the quality of the ClickUp mobile app is undeniable and has its advantages.
You won’t be able to see the form view tab full screen on your phone, but the ClickUp mobile app makes it simple. This is how you can create a new task on your smartphone:
- Click the “Add new task” button in the lower right corner.
- Press the “+” sign to add the desired task.
- You can still type the name and add the date, description of the task and subtask.
- Once you are done, you can press the “Create” option in the bottom right corner.
The ClickUp mobile app allows you to view your tasks in different ways, whether on a dashboard or in a list p.
There are three options at the top of the screen once you access the task you created. In the “Overview” p, you can add your task status, assignees, description, and start and due date. The status part can be changed from “Active” (“To Do” or “In Progress”) to “Closed Status” once the task is completed. For that reason, keeping track of your tasks is not particularly challenging.
