Adjust a table for Office 2011
For those of you still enjoying Office 2011:
How to resize a table
- Click on the View and on the menu ribbon select Print layout eitherPost Layout.

- Click the table you want to resize and place the cursor in the lower right corner of the table until the diagonal arrow icon appears.

How to change row height

Adjust a table for newer versions of Microsoft Office
For those keeping their Microsoft Office updated after 2011, the only major difference is the ability to adjust the size of columns and rows directly in the ribbon.
- Simply click on your table and new tabs will appear along with the standard ones.

- Clicking Designribbon offers several ways to style your table.

- Clicking ProvisionRibbon allows for size adjustments.

- To resize inpidually chosen columns or rows, click the cell and then adjust the height and width within the ribbon by clicking the up or down arrows next to the corresponding setting. You can also manually type the length if you prefer.
- To resize multiple rows or columns, select the columns and click Distribute columns or select the rows and click Distribute rows.

How to use autofit to resize table automatically
- Click on your table and select Automatic adjustment in it Provision eyelash.

- AutoFit will present two options. To automatically adjust the column width, choose Auto Adjust Contents. This will wrap all columns to the text or, if the cells are empty, to the margins of the page. To automatically fit the table width to the text, choose Auto adjustment window.

- To turn off Automatic adjustmentchoose Fixed column width of the available options.
How to alter the space inside the table

Adjusting margins or cell spacing is the best way to add space within your table. The image shows cell margins marked with a blue arrow and cell spacing marked in orange.
To adjust margins or spacing:
- Highlight your table and click Cell margins in it Provision eyelash.

- Within Table options box, adjust measurements accordingly.

How to keep your table on a single page
More complex Word documents may develop the need for additional tables. Typically, the tables are quite small and easily fit on a single page. For longer tables you may have, it might be irritating to have a page break occur in the middle of the table.
To avoid this hassle:
- Select all the rows in the table and click the Line spacing button on the Home eyelash.

- Choose Line spacing options from the drop-down list.

- Click on the Line and page breaks tab and make sure Continue with the next and Keep the lines together the box is checked.

- Click OK.
You will need to repeat these steps for each table with a minor modification. By highlighting the table, NO highlight the last row. To keep the table whole, this is a necessary step. Do not forget!
How to place a table in One Page Office 10

- Open Microsoft Office and click Archive in the top left-hand corner.

- Click on New from template.
- Navigate to the top right corner and click inside the Search bar and write the keywords you want; “Table” “Invoice” “Calendar” “Table of contents” or even “Menu”
- Select from the available list the template that best suits the objectives of your document.
Once you have done this, the table will appear within the Word document. Next, all you need to do is add the necessary content in the previously filled fields.

- Depending on the site you get the template from, simply follow the instructions provided. When saving, change the file location to Word on your computer.
