But sometimes the mentions can be too overwhelming. Let’s say you responded to someone else, but the conversation continued for hours or even days. Twitter will send you a notification because you were mentioned.

You can remove yourself from conversations or block a user who keeps tagging you in Tweets. We’ll show you how.

Walk away from the conversation

If you remove yourself from a conversation, your username will be removed and further notifications will be silenced. Here’s what you should do:

  1. Open Twitter and tap the Notification icon on the left.

Use a third-party service

Twitter has many moderation options for its users. But sometimes it’s a little easier with a third-party service. If you use Twitter frequently and mentions continue to plague your account, you can find a service to better monitor Tweets.

We often use circular boom because it is reliable, easy to use and reliable, so we will use it in our example. Here’s what you should do:

  1. Open Twitter in your browser. Then open a new tab and navigate to circular boom.

Deleting spam Tweets, Retweets, and accounts is a great way to reduce unwanted notifications and mentions. However, there is still more you can do.

Block sender

If you think a person is not worth your attention on Twitter, you can use the “Block” option. This will basically remove all of their Tweets from your feed, both good and bad.

Please note that after you block someone on Twitter, you will no longer be able to message them or follow their account. Additionally, you will no longer receive new notifications from this user on your Twitter account.

To block a user, follow the steps below:

  1. Open your Twitter app.

Once you do this, all of their Tweets will immediately disappear from your Twitter account.

Report tweets or users

Sometimes you may receive dozens of Tweets mentioning you. These are probably all spam, so it’s okay to report them. If someone acts abusively towards you or even becomes potentially threatening, it is definitely something you should report.
