Add Olympian to Jimmer Fredette’s already impressive basketball resume.

On March 26, USA Basketball announced that Fredette will be one of four members of the Men’s National 3×3 Team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Joining Fredette are Canyon Barry, Kareem Maddox and Dylan Travis.

Fredette, 35, has not played in the NBA since the 2018-19 season. In 2022, he began playing 3×3 basketball with the ultimate goal of representing the United States in the Olympic Games.

As he has done so many times throughout his career, Fredette made his decision when he first got involved with 3×3.

3×3 basketball officially became an Olympic sport at the Tokyo Games, where men’s and women’s 3×3 tournaments were held. Team USA took home gold in the women’s category, but did not qualify in the men’s category.

Team USA qualified for the 2024 Olympics thanks to its top-three FIBA ​​3×3 world ranking. With Team USA qualification, Fredette will be a member of the first-ever United States Senior Men’s National 3×3 Team.

In addition to men’s 3×3, USA Basketball will be represented in the women’s 3×3 tournament, as well as men’s and women’s basketball.
