Starting today, Disney package subscribers will be able to watch Huluthe entire library in Disney+.
The duo package, titled Hulu on Disney+, allows for Hulu-exclusive shows like Grey’s Anatomy, The Bear and Only murders in the building as well as critically acclaimed films such as poor things to be streamed directly from Disney+. Those who subscribe to the bundle will find a Hulu tile on their Disney+ homepage, right next to other Disney mainstays like Marvel and Pixar.
“The collective power of Disney+ and Hulu – exceptional originals from the industry’s most powerful brands and studios, libraries filled with decades of iconic favorites, and industry-leading technological and advertising capabilities – is transformative,” said Joe Earley, president of Direct-to-Consumer from Disney Entertainment, in a press release obtained by DECIDER.
He continued, “Today’s official launch of Hulu on Disney+ gives viewers even more opportunities to easily discover and enjoy thousands of titles all in one place, underscoring the extraordinary value of the Disney Bundle.”
The company expects “dominant Hulu” subscribers with access to Disney+ to now spend more time using the latter, according to Deadline.
“They don’t know there’s a lot of content on Disney+ for them,” Earley said. “They probably came to watch it discreetly and then returned to Hulu.”
Hulu on Disney+ It costs $2 more than standalone subscriptions, which are still offered for those not interested in the package. Meanwhile, Disney Packages starts at $9.99.
“This marks the most significant technical, operational and product evolution for Disney+ since its launch, one that reflects a broader technological transformation we have been undertaking,” said Aaron LaBerge, president and chief technology officer of Disney Entertainment & ESPN, on the press release.
He added: “That work will drive an improved and more engaging user experience with Disney+ and lays the foundation for the innovations and improvements we are planning for the future.”
