We were the lucky ones It was filmed in Romania and Spain, with most of the filming taking place in Romania. Filming locations in Romania include Bucharest, Romania’s capital and largest city, and Mogosoaia. In Spain, the series was filmed in Málaga, Cádiz, Jerez de la Frontera and Puerto Santa María.
According to the Spanish newspaper SOUTH, the show was filmed in Spain in May 2023. The outlet reports that the series turned the popular San Juan Street, located in Malaga, into “a corner of Brazil” while filming street scenes. One of the buildings on the main street was reportedly converted into a bookbinding and leather workshop.
In addition, the show was filmed at the Marbella Club Hotel.
SUR reported that extras dressed in period costumes from the 1940s, as well as actors Lihi Kornowski and Lerman, were seen in the area, but noted King’s absence.
