Jamahal Hill wants to regain the title he never lost when he faces Alex Pereira for the UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 300 on April 13.
Hill, 32, is the first Dana White Contender Series wrestler to become champion. He did it by beating Glover Teixeira, legend and current coach of Pereira. That could make the fight personal for Pereira. For Hill, it’s nothing more than that. He relinquished the UFC light heavyweight title due to injury. “Sweet Dreams” is ready for the balance of power to return to him.
Back in action, Hill is the highest-ranked fighter at light heavyweight, just below Pereira. However, he believes there should be an asterisk where they both are.

Pereira is a champion in two pisions and also had gold at middleweight. He holds the record for winning two belts inside the octagon in the shortest amount of time (two years, seven fights). The Brazilian is dangerous, with seven wins by knockout, and makes few if any mistakes. “Poatán” is ready to continue his path to greatness, this time defeating Hill.
There’s a revenge angle here for Pereira, although he’ll tell you it’s just another day at the office.
