The NBA offseason hasn’t arrived yet, but there are already rumors that the Knicks will trade for a star player.
Speculation is an annual tradition, but it has become more interesting now that New York is a true playoff threat in the Eastern Conference.
The Knicks made a big trade to acquire OG Anunoby at the trade deadline. But even with his presence and the emergence of Jalen Brunson as one of the best point guards in the NBA, it doesn’t seem to be enough.
Of course, the Knicks are without All-Star forward Julius Randle due to injury. However, even with him in the lineup, New York isn’t on par with the titans of the league just yet.

Just days after the Timberwolves swept the Suns in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, rumors circulated about the makeup of Phoenix’s roster and whether the team will run it again next season.
The Suns could keep the same roster and build camaraderie, similar to what the Timberwolves did after a disappointing first season with the trio of Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert and Anthony Edwards.
However, early rumors indicate that the Knicks are seriously interested in trading for Booker during the offseason. New York is “willing to offer almost anything” to pair Booker with Brunson, according to the Phoenix sports reporter. Gerardo Bourguet.
Booker still has four years left on his contract since signing a super-max extension in 2022. He will become an unrestricted free agent in 2028. Any trade that includes Booker would require a big haul.
Fortunately for the Knicks, they have stockpiled draft picks for a time like this. If we add to that some players who match Booker’s contract, an agreement could be reached.
Of course, that’s much easier said than done, especially considering Booker’s desire to play for one organization his entire career.

The 27-year-old does not have a no-trade clause, but it would be surprising to see the Suns trade Booker after nine seasons despite his wishes. Of course, crazier things have happened in the NBA.
