With many social media platforms and video conferencing services today, you don’t have a profile photo when you first create your account. These services typically have a default image (sometimes your initials) that appears as your profile photo until you decide to change it. Then you are free to change it to whatever you want.
In this article, you will discover how to change your profile photo on Webex. We will cover the different scenarios where this can happen. You will also find the answer to some questions related to Webex.
How to change your Webex profile picture in a computer
as a team
On your Webex site, you can change your profile picture from your initials or an old picture to a new one. All you need to do is log in to your Webex site. These are the steps to follow on PC:
- Sign in to your Webex site on a PC.

- Select your name, which can be found in the top right corner.

- Select “My Profile” from the list of options.

- When you see your initials or old profile photo, click the “Change” button at the bottom.

- Select “Upload Image.”

- Find an image you want to upload.

- If necessary, you can select only part of an image to use as a profile image.

- Select “Save.”

- You will now see your new profile photo in meetings and on the site.

For images that are too large, you can use a slider to zoom in and reposition the image. This allows you to choose the best parts of the larger image to use as your profile image. This happens when your image is larger than 720 x 720.
Your image should also be less than five MB, as large files will slow down loading times. This is done to increase the efficiency of the website.
If you are on mobile, the steps are as follows:
- Launch the Webex app on your mobile device.

- Tap your profile or circled initials.

- Select “Edit.”
- Select “Choose existing photo.”

- Locate the new profile picture and then select it.
- Select “Done” when you are done with the new profile picture.

The options may have different labels if you are on Android or iOS. However, the basic idea is the same and you just have to choose a profile photo.

Guest users cannot change profile pictures since they do not have a Webex account. They are stuck with the initials in a circle just as new users are assigned. This is because guests typically use external email accounts that are not connected to Webex.
Guests are asked to enter their names when they join a meeting, which is where initials come in. Since the idea behind “guest” status is that they are visitors to the site, there is no way to change the profile photos of guests since they don’t have one in the first place.
How to delete a Webex profile picture
While you can always change your profile photo from one image to another, there is no way to remove it completely. You cannot return to the circled initials that appeared when you set up your first account. As such, you can only change profile pictures from that point on.
Contacting customer service and asking them to remove your profile photo also doesn’t work. In the past, there was a Classic View for Webex where users could delete their profile pictures. However, support for this was removed in 2019.
Currently, you can only use Webex in modern view. All Webex sites, regardless of age, have lost the ability to change views. As such, the ability to completely delete profile pictures no longer exists.
That is a beautiful image
Knowing how to change your Webex profile picture allows you to personalize your account. If you’re not a fan of initials in a circle, all you need to do is change them. But keep in mind that you can’t delete a profile icon, only replace it.
