Dallas stole home-field advantage by edging out a victory in another thriller, winning Game 2, 109-108, after Luka Doncic’s third step-back in the final seconds. The patented jumper capped a triple-double of 32 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds and added to the superstar guard’s collection of exciting postseason moments.
The Mavericks have been finding different ways to win all postseason and look like the team Nico Harrison envisioned when he traded for Dereck Lively II on draft night and then made moves to acquire Daniel Gafford and PJ Washington at the deadline of changes. Each has grown in his role and has been a great help to Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
The Timberwolves now find themselves in the same position as the Denver team they beat in the last round, having to keep hope alive on the road after losing the first two games. To win back the series in Game 3, better performances from Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns will be needed. That both games only lost by single possession is a positive for the Wolves, considering their stars haven’t made it yet.
