Germany must overcome a recent ghost team if it wants to keep its stormy start to Euro 2024 on track.
The hosts thrashed Scotland 5-1 on opening night in Munich, producing a display that delighted coach Julian Nagelsmann. Die Mannschaft now face a Hungarian team that is actually part of the reason Nagelsmann is in charge.
In three attempts, his predecessor, Hansi Flick, could not achieve a single victory against Marco Rossi’s team.

The challenge for Nagelsmann and his players is to show that this is a different Germany to Flick’s. If they do so as emphatically as they did against Scotland, a Hungarian team that lost 3-1 to Switzerland in its opener will face an early exit.

1 hour 40 minutes before start: It will be fascinating to see how much the recent patchy form against Hungary counts. It’s easy to forget that there was a lot of uncertainty surrounding Germany heading into their home tournament before blowing Scotland out of the water.
