The Copa América 2024 is ready to begin.
The tournament will bring together the best teams from North, South and Central America for a special edition of the CONMEBOL continental championship, which will also see the United States preparing to host the 2026 World Cup.
This year’s Copa América will feature the usual 10 South American nations, along with six “guests” who will challenge the established CONMEBOL powers for their own continental crown.
Lionel Messi and defending champions Argentina, as well as global soccer powerhouse Brazil, will be forced to navigate a 16-team competition that includes the likes of the United States, Mexico and Jamaica.

Schedule and format of the Copa América 2024
The Copa América 2024 will have 16 teams pided into four groups of four teams each. The draw took place on Thursday, December 7, 2023 in Miami, Florida.
The competition will then begin on June 20, 2024 with the opening group stage match in Atlanta, GA between defending champions Argentina and playoff winners Canada. The group stage will run until July 2, and the top two finishers in each group will advance to the knockout stage, while the bottom two will be eliminated.
The knockout phase will begin on July 4 with the quarterfinals, with a single elimination bracket that will be played until its conclusion. The only exception will be the third place match organized for those defeated in the semi-final, which will be played the day before the final is played on July 14.
