The Netherlands will face Austria in the final match of Group D of Euro 2024.
Group D is arguably the most contested group in this Euro Cup and both teams could finish first if they won.
The Netherlands earned a hard-fought point against France following their opening match victory over Poland, putting them in a prime position to top the group.
Austria was narrowly defeated by France, but comfortably took three points against Poland by winning 3-1. The Netherlands followed up their victory against Poland with a difficult draw with France, although coach Ronald Koeman does not seem satisfied despite their unbeaten start, insisting that “we are a team that still needs to grow.”
Ralf Rangnick’s Austrian team has lost its last seven games against the Netherlands, including friendlies.
They also haven’t won against them since a World Cup qualifying match in 1984.
