Germany will hope to book their place in the quarter-finals of the 2024 European Championship when they face Denmark in the round of 16.
Julian Nagelsmann’s men reached the round of 16 by winning Group A after beating Scotland 5-1 and Hungary 2-0. They then secured first place with a last-minute equalizer against Switzerland thanks to a header from Niclas Fullkrug.
Denmark have struggled for goals and drawn all their games in a poorly performing group alongside England, Serbia and Slovenia.
But Kasper Hjulmand’s team did what they had to do and reached another European knockout stage.
Three years ago they were eliminated in the semi-finals against England, but they made them work for it and forced the match into extra time.
