The Professional Fighters League returned to action on Friday, June 28 with PFL 6 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as the regular season concluded.
The event featured regular season fights in the welterweight and featherweight pisions.
2022 featherweight champion Brendan Loughnane (29-5) and Justin Gonzales (14-5) faced off in the main event. In the co-main event, former Bellator interim champion Logan Storley (16-3) stepped into the cage in his hometown to take on Luca Poclit (10-2).
After an exciting main card, Loughnane raised her hand in victory after a second-round TKO. Loughnane clinched the top featherweight playoff spot with the win and will face No. 4 Kai Kamaka in the semifinals.
The second semifinal will feature No. 2 seed Gabriel Braga against No. 3 Timur Khizriev. Braga (14-1) earned a second-round TKO victory over Bubba Jenkins in the first match of the main card, while Khizriev advanced to 16-0 with a unanimous decision victory over Enrique Barzola (20-9- 2).
At welterweight, Magomed Umalatov (16-0) got the better of the second-ranked contender with a first-round submission win over Brennan Ward (17-9). He will face Don Madge (11-5-1) in the semifinal despite Madge’s unanimous decision loss to Neiman Gracie (13-5).
The top spot belongs to undefeated Shamil Musaev (18-0-1), who scored a second-round TKO over Murad Ramazanov (12-1, 1 NC) on the preliminary card. The two men will rematch in the welterweight semifinals.
