The Philadelphia 76ers are adding to their forward roster with the signing of former Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news, writing: “Free agent F Caleb Martin is finalizing a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources tell ESPN. A shock addition for the Sixers, who add the playoff-bound veteran from Miami.”

Martin established himself as a reliable option during his time with the Heat, averaging 10 points and 4.4 rebounds on 43.1% shooting last season. He was a crucial piece in Miami’s run to the 2023 NBA Finals, arguably being the most important player in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Heat defeated the Boston Celtics in an intense seven-game series, the most important competition the Sixers will likely have to overcome to reach the Finals next year.

The 76ers are stocking up on talent this offseason, and Martin is the latest to join the list. The rest of their free agent class includes Paul George, Eric Gordon and Andre Drummond.
