Bronny James and the Lakers will look to get their first win of the summer when they open their Las Vegas Summer League run with a matchup against the Rockets on Friday.
James struggled offensively in the California Classic Summer League, averaging just 3.5 points per game and shooting 25 percent from the field. He did, however, make an impact defensively, with 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game.
Now, the question is whether James, the 55th pick in this year’s NBA draft, will be able to step up against a different set of opponents in Las Vegas. With reigning Las Vegas Summer League MVP Cam Whitmore and first-round pick Reed Sheppard expected to take the court for the Rockets, James and the Lakers should have their work cut out for them.
