In November 2022, Nike ended its relationship with Kyrie Irving after a seven-year collaboration in the footwear sector. It is not against its nature to shy away from collaborations that may prove controversial, but it is also not against its nature to associate itself with them like Colin Kaepernick.
Following a troubled year for rising NBA superstar Ja Morant, Nike pulled his debut sneaker from the website in May 2023, while issuing a statement of support. Other websites kept his sneaker online, but there were concerns that his sneaker would never make it to market.
After nearly 30 different colorways of its first signature shoe, it was revealed this week that the second version was on the way:

Ja Morant and Nike are set to release the second exclusive model in October for $120. Sizes for the entire family have been confirmed.
