LeBron James is back to his unintentionally hilarious ways.
Days after leading Team USA to Olympic gold, James decided to pay tribute to the team by changing his profile picture on X (formerly Twitter) to a group photo on the steps of Bercy in Paris. And while the gesture was honorable, James’ decision to use a low-resolution photo quickly became well-known.
Using the hashtag #NewProfilePic, James made sure his 50 million-plus followers knew he’d picked a new profile pic. As for quality… the blur speaks for itself.

It wouldn’t be so bad if there wasn’t a higher resolution version of the photo, but I’m sure there is.

It’s hard to say what led James to choose the pixelated profile picture. There’s a chance the quality was compromised when uploading it to X. There’s also a chance he didn’t recognise that a higher quality version of the photo existed, or he simply wasn’t aware of the issue at hand.
Regardless of why it happened, it’s safe to say that The Chosen One should have picked a better version of his new profile picture. We’ll see how long the pixelated version lasts.
