Sean O’Malley and Jamahal Hill are proof that Dana White’s Contender Series is more than just a UFC reality show. And now it’s back for an eighth season.
Each week, the fighters face off and if they impress, White will offer them a contract with the UFC. The first episode of the eighth season will air on August 13 and the final episode will air on October 15.

Dana White’s Contender Series Format and Rules
Each week, five fights will feature ten prospects or veterans looking to earn a spot on the UFC roster. White and matchmakers Mick Maynard and Sean Shelby are part of the panel observing the fights.
Unlike The Ultimate Fighter or other shows, DWCS is not a single-elimination tournament. At the end of each week, White hands out contracts to the most deserving or most impressive fighters. Winning does not guarantee a contract. Bo Nickal fought multiple times during a DWCS season before finally getting a contract.
In rare cases, the loser of a fight could be awarded a contract.
