Deadlock’s not-so-secret MOBA hero shooter is well into its playtest, but it’s a pretty exclusive game to get into, so here’s what you need to know if you want in.

Despite tens of thousands of players online and leaked gameplay footage since May, Valve has yet to publicly acknowledge the existence of its new game.

Even though Deadlock doesn’t get enough recognition from its creators, that doesn’t stop the hype from building. With the player base continuing to grow, you might also be interested in checking out the hero shooter MOBA during its playtest.

So if that’s the case, here’s everything you need to know to get into Deadlock as early as possible.

How to access Deadlock’s playtest

Currently there are two main ways to enter Deadlock early, or be randomly invited by Valve Or receive an invitation from a friend.

Getting a random invite from Valve is the hardest option as you’ll just need to get lucky, and with the sheer number of Steam accounts floating around, your chances are pretty slim.

However, invites are sent out regularly by Valve, so as the days go by your chances slowly increase for you.

Number of players in impasseAs Deadlock’s player base grows, so do your chances of being invited.

Additionally, a friend who already has access can refer Steam friends for invites, but this does not guarantee that they will receive an invite from Valve.

If you have a friend who already has access, they can also send you an invite to the playtest. They can easily do this from within the game and you can simply accept it when you get it.

This means that if you receive an invite from a friend, you can in turn invite other friends to join you, which seems to be Valve’s strategy when it comes to streaming the playtest.

Other than these two options, there is currently no other way to access Deadlock, but the number of players in the game is slowly increasing day by day. And with a larger number of players, your chances of accessing it will also increase.
