New York Knicks guard Miles “Deuce” McBride played the role of hero at West Virginia University on Friday.
On “The Pat McAfee Show,” McBride, who played basketball at West Virginia, was challenged to hit a deep shot so McAfee’s show would cover the remainder of a student’s tuition.
When McAfee asked McBride if the shot was as deep as a half-court shot on an NBA court, McBride replied, “It’s pretty far.”
McBride then lined up the shot and launched it, as the crowd erupted.
McAfee and the crowd then began chanting, “Deuce! Deuce!”

McBride took a leap forward as a shooter last year, in his third season in the NBA. McBride went from a 29 percent three-point shooter in 2022-23 to a 41 percent three-point shooter on more than three attempts per game.
With this improvement, some lucky WVU students now have their tuition covered.
