Jeremy Stephens left the UFC in July 2021 and spent some time in the Professional Fighters League (PFL).
After going 2-7 with one no-contest in his last 10 professional fights, Stephens turned his talents to bare-knuckle boxing.
Stephens, 38, won his BKFC debut and will be hoping to continue his unbeaten run next weekend against Bobby Taylor (6-2) and he is expecting an emphatic victory.
“Body bag, I don’t worry about the opponent, man,” he said. TMZ Sports. “Just [going to] “Throw him in a fucking bag. We’re here to hurt him, that’s the business of hurting him. He’s just an opponent, go ahead and do my thing.”
Stephens also has someone else in mind: Conor McGregor.
McGregor and Stephens have a brief history stemming from a viral press conference that instantly became a meme.
During one exchange, Stephens interrupted McGregor who quickly responded: “Who is this guy?!”
During his interview, Stephens made it clear that he would be open to a showdown in the BKFC ring.
“You never know. Stay tuned,” Stephens said.
McGregor has been a co-owner of BKFC since purchasing a stake in the promotion earlier this year. He has said he plans to fight bare-knuckle in the future, but only time will tell when that will happen.
No matter who McGregor fights, if he competes again it will be a must-see TV event.
