While the Jackal PDW has become the favorite of the beta meta, the XM4 isn’t far behind once you install a few attachments. You may not have the same stopping power at close range as the Jackal, but this weapon is much more capable at range.
The Black Ops 6 beta maps may not be huge, but keeping the right line of sight in objective-based game modes can make all the difference. However, having the ability to spray people at close range isn’t a bad thing either.

- Fire Mods: Rapid fire
- Note: If you haven’t unlocked it yet, take a Light stock instead. Rapid fire takes a while to unlock, but it’s worth it for the lower TTK.
- Optical: Other Micro Dot
- Note: If you don’t mind using Iron Sights, the Compensator Fixing the muzzle is a wise choice. However, the XM4’s recoil is so low that a compensator is not essential.
The real decisive attachment here is the Long barrel. If you’re trying to fight at medium range and feel like you’re getting outgunned every time, it’s because you don’t have a long barrel. This attachment will reduce the number of rounds needed to kill by one shot at about 15 yards, making it a must-have.
THE Barrel CHF is also a great option if you are confident in your accuracy and headshots, but it is much more difficult to use than the Long barrel.

- Field upgrade: Assault Pack/Trophy System
Bulletproof vest is very useful if you are holding high ground and throwing enemies across the map. Grenades are quite powerful in Black Ops 6, so pick it up if you don’t plan on running Ghost.
Dexterity will reduce your weapon movement when jumping, sliding and diving to keep you on target, Double time will give you increased tactical sprint duration and Gung-Ho allows you to reload while tactical sprinting.
Assassin is your best choice for Perk 1 if you don’t have one Greed Advantage unlocked again.
