Just days before the Tennessee Titans’ regular season opener against the The Chicago Bears On Sunday, the team brought in several players for workouts, including two quarterbacks.
According to the league transactions threadThe Titans trained quarterbacks Ian Book and Chris Oladokun, as well as defensive backs Kendell Brooks, Quindell Johnson and Kendall Williamson. Brooks was eventually signed to the practice squad.
The Titans currently do not have a third quarterback on their 53-man roster or practice squad after trading Malik Willis to the Green Bay Packers.
As a result, head coach Brian Callahan revealed that wide receiver Tyler Boyd is the team’s emergency quarterback heading into Week 1. But Callahan also made it clear he’d like to bring in a young signal-caller to the practice squad.
“I’d like to have another young quarterback to develop and work with,” he said, according to AtoZ Sports Nashville.
A former fourth-round pick of the New Orleans Saints In 2021, Book played in just one game, in his rookie campaign. He completed 12 of 20 passes for 135 yards and two interceptions in that game.
The book also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots And The Kansas City ChiefsDuring the 2024 preseason with the Chiefs, Book completed 16 of 22 passes for 133 and two touchdowns with no interceptions.
Oladokun was selected in the seventh round of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022, but never appeared in a regular-season game. He spent each of the last two preseasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, and in 2024, he completed 22 of 33 passes for 250 yards and one touchdown on two interceptions.
It wouldn’t hurt for the Titans to take a look at either of their players on the practice squad. We’ll see if Tennessee ends up signing one, or someone else, at some point in the coming days or weeks.
