Roads in Pokémon Go are the only place you can farm Zygarde Cells.
In Pokémon Go, Zygrade Cells can change Zygarde’s form, but how exactly do you find these handy evolution resources in the game? Here’s everything you need to know to get Zygarde’s 50% and full form.
First appearing in the Kalos region of Pokémon X and Y, the Dragon/Ground-type Legendary Pokémon Zygarde made its debut in Pokémon Go as a reward for working hard on the From A to Zygarde Special Research quest.
As a three-form Pokémon, it will need Zygarde Cells to go from 10% to 50% and then to its full form. So if you want one of the most powerful creatures in the game, here’s how to get enough Zygarde Cells to get a full form of Zygarde in Niantic’s mobile game.
How to get Zygarde cells
Zygarde Cells in Pokémon Go can only be obtained by using the Routes function in the game.
This feature includes mapped routes that have been created by other trainers to encourage you to explore the local area with bonuses along the way. You can also create your own routes once you have unlocked the feature.
Follow Routes in Pokémon Go
Here’s how you can join routes in the game:
- Open Pokémon Go and tap the “Nearby” menu at the bottom right.
- Tap the screen and swipe left to switch from the Pokémon tab to the “Route” tab.
- Tap “See nearby routes” to see all available user-generated routes.
- Select the one you want to track (you can see distance, time and other useful information if you tap on it).
- Once you’ve chosen one, tap “Follow.”
- Walk to the indicated starting point (a PokéStop or Gym) and follow the highlighted route.
- Follow the route from start to finish to collect Zygarde Cells.
NIANTIC/DEXERTO
Zygarde Cells are small and fairly easy to miss, especially when you’re focused on tracking your route or what’s going on around you in the real world. The most important thing is that you tap on them because they are not collected automatically.
Interestingly, Zygarde Cells are quite rare in the game. And there are a few pitfalls to avoid when it comes to obtaining these items. For example, there is a cap of three Zygarde Cells per day. Additionally, these items can only be found on the first playthrough of a route on a given day.
What are Zygarde cells used for?
Zygarde Cells are only used to change Zygarde’s form, making it more powerful. You will need to collect 50 Zygarde Cells to reach 50% fitness and 200 additional Zygarde Cells to reach 100% fitness.
This will probably take you a long time to accomplish, but it’s definitely worth it, as 100% Forme Zygarde is one of the most powerful fighters in the Ultra League and Master League formats.
How often do Zygarde cells appear in Pokémon Go?
Collecting the required amount of Zygarde Cells to reach the full form of Zygarde is quite a difficult task as players can only collect a maximum of three Zygarde cells per day in Pokémon Go.
Also, they are really hard to find, and following a route doesn’t mean you’ll get one – or more – for sure. Remember to never repeat routes, because They only appear on unexplored routes.
