The Jujutsu Kaisen manga is finally coming to an end, but don’t worry: this new Shonen Jump manga could be a good replacement, except there’s one major difference.
Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most popular Shonen manga of recent times. The story takes place in a world where curses accumulate due to negative emotions, and only a small percentage of people are able to see and fight them.
There are two high schools dedicated to teaching the next generation of Jujutsu sorcerers. The final villain, Ryomen Sukuna, has finally been defeated. As the epic story is about to come to a close, a new Shonen Jump manga, Empyreal Cabinet, has the potential to be just as incredible as Jujutsu Kaisen.
Written and illustrated by Fumiji Yuba, the manga debuted on August 16, 2024. The story focuses on the political power struggles between spellcasters in the Tatsushimo-Marebito Special Administrative District, also known as the “Oriental Enchantment”.
Both Empyreal Cabinet and Jujutsu Kaisen have characters who exorcise monsters and deal with political issues in the witchcraft world. Therefore, while this new manga could very well replace Jujutsu Kaisen, the main difference lies in its timeline.
After releasing three chapters every week, the creators announced that they will have a monthly calendar. Fans are more than happy to have a monthly calendar as the illustrations are extremely beautiful.
A popular account shares: “Fumiji Yuba’s Empyreal Cabinet will be moving to a monthly serialization schedule starting with Chapter 4 on the Shonen Jump+ app. The next chapter will be released on October 18, 2024.”
“It’s better. This drawing is just too much for a weekly manga. A monthly manga makes sense. Also, the chapters are very long. I’m glad Yuba-sensei made this decision,” wrote a fan.

“It’s completely normal, because we don’t want the next mangaka to be on hiatus due to health issues. This seems like a long-term work, with the art style on top. It has a lot of potential, so I don’t want them to waste it. They should take their time,” shared another one.
