Gojo’s death was one of the most horrifying moments in Jujutsu Kaisen, but fans believe it will finally get a bittersweet ending in Chapter 269.
As Jujutsu Kaisen nears its end, each story arc comes to a close. In chapter 268, Yuji finally defeats Sukuna while Megumi is freed from the clutches of the curse. This leads to a happy reunion between the first-year trio.
However, not everything is rosy yet. Yuta’s fate is still unknown after the Shinjuku Showdown. He now possesses Gojo’s body and could live like this until the end of his days. Still, fans can’t help but hope for an alternative to this situation.
Many believe that Yuta will recover his body in Chapter 269, freeing Gojo’s corpse. Rika might also spit out Geto’s body, who is now free from Kenjaku’s cursed technique. If this happens, the two friends will finally be able to be buried together.

It’s a heartbreaking thought, especially since fans still haven’t gotten over Gojo’s death, but it’s still a beautiful ending for the beloved character. As the most powerful modern wizard, Gojo has always felt alone, except when he’s with his best friend Geto.
Although their lives ended tragically, perhaps they will be able to reunite in death as they once did in the afterlife (as we see in Chapter 236). Fans wept at the prospect after a user proposed this hypothesis on X.
“What if Yuta returned to his body and the next chapter ended with Gojo and Geto buried side by side?” published a popular Jujutsu Kaisen fan account.
One of them replied, “If they can get Rika to throw up Geto’s body, I’m all for the idea.”
“If this happens then I won’t really care about the last two chapters. I mean it will give me all the information I wanted to know about the characters, that’s where the story ends,” another commented.
“And we get Gojo’s words revealed by JJK0. That’s an ending I can accept,” added a third.
Some fans are still hoping that Gojo will return before the end of Jujutsu Kaisen, especially since Nobara is revealed to be alive in chapter 267. At this point, anything is possible, so nothing can be said for sure.
