When you create TikTok content, you can save your drafts directly in the app. If you’re curious about how to use drafts on TikTok, we’ve got you covered.

TikTok’s drafts feature allows creators to easily edit and preview their content before publishing. This allows creators to work on their videos in stages, before sharing them with the world.

Here’s everything you need to know if you want to start using the draft feature on TikTok.

How to Create a TikTok Draft

  1. Open TikTok.
  2. Press the plus button to open the camera screen.
  3. Select a length for your video.
  4. Film something using the red button or upload a video from your gallery.
  5. Press the red check mark, then ‘following’ after previewing your clip.
  6. Click on the ‘Drafts’ button at the bottom left to save it as a draft.

Once you’ve recorded your video, your draft will appear in a dedicated folder at the top of your profile page.

  2. Press the draft you want to edit to open it.
  3. If you want to edit the video itself, click the back button in the upper left corner, then “Continue recording.” From here you can add new clips, music, filters and more. Once you’re happy, click the red tick to add stickers or captions, or to adjust your clips.

How to Save TikTok Drafts to Camera Roll

After shooting a draft, you may want to keep the footage you shot, but not necessarily publish it. Luckily, there is now a direct option to save drafts to your camera roll.

  1. Open your draft folder, and select the video you want to save.
  2. Click ‘Following’ to go to the options.
  3. Press the save button in the upper right corner.
  4. Check your camera film, and your video should be there.

How to Delete Drafts on TikTok

It’s easy to start collecting a lot of drafts if you keep shooting videos without posting them, which can take up space on your phone. Luckily, deleting drafts on TikTok is easy.

  1. Go to the Drafts tab on your profile page.
  2. Faucet ‘Select’ in the upper right corner.
  3. Select the videos you want DELETE.
  4. Faucet ‘DELETE’ at the bottom of the screen. Tap Delete again in the pop-up window to confirm.

It’s also worth noting that if you decide to uninstall TikTok, all your saved drafts will be deleted.

While posted TikTok videos can be recovered from the “Recently Deleted” folder, drafts are not recoverable. So, we recommend you to save all drafts if you are planning to uninstall TikTok as a safety precaution.

Can other users see your TikTok drafts?

Other TikTok users cannot see your TikTok drafts. As it stands, only you can see your TikTok drafts because they’re stored locally on your phone or other device, rather than on TikTok’s servers.
