Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is out in Early Access, but it’s facing a widespread issue that’s preventing players from accessing the game. The community has reported the “CONNECTION ERROR” that greets users upon launching the game, but is there a way to fix this?
Unfortunately, this is a server issue on the developer side and there is nothing you can do to fix it on your end. Other than waiting, I recommend restart your game, console/PC and network connectionjust in case, because a handful of people have managed to get into the game. Once you’re in, don’t close the game and just leave it running in the background even if you’re not playing to stay in it.
We have an important update regarding the current server and connection situation.

The Test Drive Unlimited Team acknowledged the problem on social media The server team has identified the root cause of all the connection issues and implemented changes for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms. However, this has led to new issues that they now have to deal with. As for us, the players, all we can do is wait for the developers to fix the connection failed error to get a taste of the final product.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown was originally scheduled for a 2022 release, but the game was delayed multiple times and will now finally be released two years later in 2024. While we were expecting a smooth launch experience, it’s not looking good at all, as the majority of players can’t even access the character creation screen.
Criticism and applause will follow after players get to play the game, but for now, there are only complaints as the developers have failed to deliver a finished product after years of promises and testing. Everyone feels cheated as they can’t play even after paying extra to buy the Gold Edition and play the game a week before the official launch.
As expected, Steam reviews are bad for the new game Test Drive Unlimited, as players aren’t exactly fans of the launch issues. One thing we can learn from this incident is that, whenever possible, developers should provide an offline mode for games; and for Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, this was certainly possible with the huge open world and activities to participate in.
