Space Marine 2 Gold and Ultra Edition owners have been able to play the game in Early Access, starting August 5, 2024, but a frustrating server bug is causing chaos.

Space Marine 2 offers offline play, but you need to be online to save your progress or join your friends. This means that an internet connection is mandatory to fully enjoy this title. Since Early Access has been available, players around the world have been complaining about server issues, crashes, and disconnections.

The most common error is the server connection error. When you try to join a friend, the game loads you into another world, but on your end, you get stuck on the loading screen for hours. Some users have encountered this problem after completing a chapter, while others have encountered it while trying to join their friends.

Players are therefore increasingly frustrated by complaints that have surfaced on Steam, Reddit and X. One such comment read: “I completed a mission but it got stuck on the server and never loaded,” while another user said: “I’m stuck on a black loading screen.”

Furthermore, there is no point in waiting, as you will never rejoin the game and will instead be kicked out. This issue also affected the game’s initial Steam reviews, with its rating starting at Mixed before slowly climbing to Mostly Positive.

Server load is likely the reason why this happened, which is understandable given Space Marine 2’s sheer player count. On Steam alone, around 100,000 players tried to join in on the Early Access fun, and that’s not even counting the console population.

This also means that unless the issue is fixed, more players could face issues when the game becomes available to everyone on September 9. Unfortunately, there is no official fix for this issue yet, aside from basic solutions like disabling crossplay or checking your internet connection.

THE The developers have asked players to be patient They are currently working on the issue and will deploy fixes as soon as possible. Once a fix is available, we will keep you updated with relevant information.
