Differences between iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus

iPhone 16 vs iPhone 16 Plus: What’s the difference?

This year, Apple finally gave its classic models some love. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus feature vertically aligned rear cameras with a 48MP Fusion camera and an upgraded 12MP ultra-wide sensor with autofocus and macro photography. Both models feature a programmable action button and an all-new camera control button. You’ll also find the new A18 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and support for Apple Intelligence on both models. Unlike the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which differs in screen size and offers additional improvements over the iPhone 16 Pro, the iPhone 16 Plus doesn’t offer any exclusive features over the iPhone 16.

Since the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus come with similar features and specifications, you’ll get more or less a similar experience on both models. Beyond the larger display, you’ll only get extra hours of battery life if you opt for the iPhone 16 Plus. Other than that, you won’t find any additional features or performance improvements. Both models offer similar camera systems, performance, and gaming experience.

Should you buy an iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Plus?

Now let’s move on to the most important question: should you buy an iPhone 16 or an iPhone 16 Plus? Of course, this depends entirely on the screen size you prefer, your personal usage, and your budget. In addition, there are some smaller but important factors that weigh in your decision. In my opinion, the weight of the device, its ease of carrying, and its handling are invaluable considerations.

The iPhone 16 starts at $799 for the 128GB model, while the larger iPhone 16 Plus starts at $899. For that extra $100, you get a bigger screen and better battery life. These improvements will surely tempt users who like a bigger screen for playing games, watching videos, and doing other things. If you’re part of that team, the iPhone 16 Plus is for you.

Then there is a whole other side to the story. While the 6.7-inch display seems like a big and beautiful beast, it is not for everyone. Some people may find the size of the iPhone 16 Plus too big and uncomfortably large to hold. If you prefer compact phones, the iPhone 16 would be a better option. If you ask me, I would still choose the iPhone 16 over the iPhone 16 Plus. I am more comfortable with the 6.1-inch screen size because it feels secure in my hand and can easily slide in/out of my pockets without any issues.

Again, the ideal screen size is a personal opinion, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution for everyone. Interestingly, you won’t be missing out on any features, as the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus have almost every feature other than battery life. Now, go ahead and choose the one that suits your taste and needs.
