Therefore, many players tend to sign contracts abroad to continue chasing their dream. That is exactly what this former Los Angeles Lakers player chose to do.
Montrezl Harrell is headed to Australia after signing with the Adelaide 36ers. The big man joins the 36ers on a short-term deal after the team lost key player Jarrell Martin, who is recovering from injury. However, according to ESPN’s Olgon Uluc, Harrell could remain in Australia even after the loss. the team is back to full health.
“Harrell will be on a short-term contract, sources say, but it’s possible he could remain with the team when Martin is healthy. The 36ers would have to deactivate a local player to do so,” Uluc reports.
The former Sixth Man of the Year winner has made a name for himself during his time in the league, but the player has struggled with injuries that have ultimately led to inconsistent play and a struggle for a roster spot. However, when Harrell is on the court, he is an absolute force on both ends of the floor.
If the 30-year-old can put together a solid film during his time in the NBL, he could find himself earning opportunities with NBA teams as the season progresses.
