Hot Ones, the celebrity talk show with a twist, could be making the jump to Netflix in a live episode format.
According to BloombergAccording to the report, longtime host Sean Evans will continue to host Hot Ones, which spices up the celebrity interview format by asking guests to devour increasingly spicy wings.
These episodes would be created specifically for Netflix, though it’s unclear whether each broadcast would also be posted to YouTube, should talks with Hot Ones owner Buzzfeed Inc. come to fruition.
At the time of writing, the show’s parent channel, First We Feast, has 14 million subscribers, with the Hot Ones episodes consistently generating the most views. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman sat down at the legendary dinner table on July 25, attracting over 20 million views.

If Netflix can negotiate a deal to bring Hot Ones original content to its platform, replicating even a fraction of those numbers would be a huge boost for its live event content.
The streamer has been investing resources into expanding its live streaming offerings in 2024. In addition to securing the rights to broadcast two NFL games on December 25, the highly anticipated Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight will be streamed live on the service on November 15, assuming it happens.
There have been repeated doubts about whether the match will happen due to Tyson’s ongoing health issues, with many fearing that it would ultimately become nothing more than an exhibition match or, worse, be canceled altogether.
Getting the top score for Hot Ones would be a big win for Netflix, though Bloomberg notes that the sources Netflix spoke with “asked not to be identified” because negotiations “could still fall apart.” That said, don’t be surprised if nothing ever happens.
