Damar Hamlin capped his epic comeback with a one-of-a-kind moment. It came on Monday Night Football, where he encountered his biggest obstacle.
Against the Jaguars, the Bills safety intercepted a errant attempt by Trevor Lawrence. With his interception, Hamlin made history – this interception was the first of his professional career.

Hamlin hid behind Jacksonville rookie Brian Thomas Jr. early in the second half, hoping to get into the game after seeing a mistake by Lawerence.
Lawrence executed his pass by throwing his aerial pass to Thomas, who was now completely open. Hamlin took advantage of the Jaguars’ signal-caller’s mistake, catching Lawrence’s unruly pass before charging into Jacksonville territory.
His joy was evident as soon as the game ended. Hamlin and his teammates took giant strides into the end zone, posing for the camera in a way only Buffalo’s defense could. Hamlin made sure to carry his memento with him, keeping it close to his waist as he made his way to the sideline.
The Highmark Stadium faithful were also more than pleased, holding up his signature “3” sign as he celebrated his INT.

What happened to Damar Hamlin?
Hamlin collapsed after a collision with Bengals WR Tee Higgins on Monday Night Football in January 2023. After a lengthy recovery, the safety — who now starts in Buffalo’s starting lineup — worked magic in front of his home fans. It doesn’t get much better than that.
