The 76ers’ 2024-25 season has gotten off to a rough start but help could be on the way.
After Philadelphia lost four of its first five games, Paul George’s much-anticipated Sixers debut is on the horizon. George signed with Philadelphia during the offseason but suffered an injury during the preseason that has kept him out of the lineup.
Is George playing tonight? Here is the latest on his status as the Sixers begin a three-game road trip on the West Coast.

Is Paul George playing tonight?
George is expected to make his Sixers debut when Philadelphia visits Phoenix Monday barring any setbacks, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. After missing the first five games of the season with a bone bruise in his left knee, George has been upgraded to questionable on the official NBA injury report released at 8:30 a.m. ET.
At morning shootaround, George provided an encouraging outlook for his prospect to play Monday.
“I would say 90 percent, 95 percent [chance to play],” George told reporters. “I’ve been clearing the past couple of days, no soreness, no swelling, nothing to give me a second thought going into tonight.”

George’s return is a welcomed sight for the Sixers, who have a 1-4 record through five games and still await the season debut of former MVP Joel Embiid.
After facing the Suns Monday, the 76ers will travel to Los Angeles to face the Clippers and Lakers. The West Coast trip signals a rough stretch before the NBA Cup begins on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
George’s potential return could not come at a more opportune time for Philadelphia.
The nine-time All-Star suffered the injury in a preseason game on Oct. 14 when a collision caused him to hyperextend his left leg. He was pulled from the game, did not return and has not played since.
