When the Minnesota Timberwolves agreed to trade Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks a couple of weeks prior to the start of the season, both fan bases were upset.
Wolves fans didn’t want to see Towns go while Knicks fans couldn’t understand why the move was needed.
A month into the season, it’s clear who won the trade thus far. The truth won’t sit well with Wolves fans, but Towns has hit the ground running since joining the Knicks. Meanwhile, Randle seems to be hitting a few more bumps in the road with Minnesota while Donte DiVincenzo is failing to meet expectations. his groove in Minnesota.

The dynamic duo of Jalen Brunson and Towns has been so imposing that they’re on pace to be the first guard/center duo to average 25+ points per game since Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal. In addition to that, both players have seen their shooting efficiency and percentages improve significantly playing alongside each other as well.
Towns is shooting 55% from the field and an impressive 50% from three-point range, which are both career highs. He is also scoring more this season than ever before, and his turnovers are the lowest they’ve been in his career.
For Brunson, his stats have stayed around the same as last season, except for averaging three fewer points per game. He is, however, averaging a career-high 7.3 assists.
Although they’re not a guard/center duo, Anthony Edwards and Randle have been gaining some traction in regard to their chemistry together.
Randle is more efficient with his shooting, but overall, his scoring and rebounds are down compared to years prior in New York. Last year, Randle averaged 24 points and 9.2 rebounds. So far this season, he is averaging 21 points and only 6.5 rebounds (career-low).
You can’t help but compare the two duos, and so far the Knicks tandem is completely outperforming not only the Wolves but arguably any duo in the NBA.
