Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou finds himself at the centre of a debate ahead of Sunday’s clash against Liverpool.
With memories of last season’s controversy still fresh, questions are being raised about whether some Spurs fans might once again cheer against their own team — this time, in favor of Liverpool.

Last season, a portion of Tottenham supporters infamously backed Manchester City to defeat their own side.Their reasoning? To prevent North London rivals Arsenal from winning the Premier League title. The reaction left Postecoglou visibly upset, leading him to call out the club’s “fragile foundations”.
Now, as Liverpool sit six points clear of Arsenal at the top of the table but just two points clear of Chelsea (another Spurs rival), similar tensions are resurfacing. Could a win for Arne Slot’s side spark another wave of divided loyalties?
Former Spurs goalkeeper Kasey Keller weighed in, stating he doesn’t believe such fan behavior would prompt Postecoglou to resign.
“He’s passionate and has strong beliefs in his way of playing. I don’t see Ange walking away,” Keller told Sports Mole.
Tottenham injury issues ahead of Liverpool game
While Postecoglou hasn’t addressed the possibility of fans rooting for Liverpool, he did share some positive team news. Destiny Udogie is expected to return after a minor thigh issue, and Timo Werner could also feature following an illness.
However, Spurs remain without several key players, including Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Richarlison, and Ben Davies. Rodrigo Bentancur is also unavailable, serving the last game of his suspension.
Tottenham were in 10th place heading into the weekend, far from the Champions League spots.
