Over the last few weeks, fans have been treated to a couple of “snow globe” games.

While it’s fun to watch these matchups, games with heavy precipitation or wind can be devastating for the weekly fantasy value of receivers and non-rushing quarterbacks. Keeping an eye on games that may have inclement weather is crucial for fantasy managers, especially during the fantasy playoffs.

Week 17 NFL weather forecast and updates

Thursday: Seattle Seahawks at Chicago Bears

Thursday Night Football should involve some rain. Expect spotty showers with any rainfall staying relatively light. This could impact the game to some degree but should not affect any lineup decisions this week.

Saturday: Denver Broncos at Cincinnati Bengals

Things have the potential to get really ugly in Cincinnati on Saturday. It’s nearly guaranteed to rain, the only question is just how heavily will it come down. Stay tuned for updates because this could be a complete washout.

Sunday: Indianapolis Colts at New York Giants

UPDATE: Kevin Roth expects there to be sprinkles, if anything. There will be some light wind, but nothing serious.

Fans are likely going to be dealing with some scattered showers at MetLife Stadium. Forecasts currently place the chance of rain in the range of 70 percent, so some sort of rainfall is almost a guarantee.

As of now, Kevin Roth isn’t particularly concerned with the severity of the weather in New York.

Sunday: Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars

UPDATE: The forecast in Jacksonville has taken a turn for the worse this week. There is likely to be some heavy rain at some point during the game. However, the rain could be avoided if kickoff is delayed by lightning.

Titans vs. Jaguars has a similar outlook to Colts vs. Giants; there will likely be rain (54 percent chance via forecast), but it is not expected to be heavy enough to completely erase the passing attack of either team.

Sunday: New York Jets at Buffalo Bills

UPDATE: Heavy rain is expected to fall pre-game with most rain clearing up early in the game. There still could still be significant wind during the game with gusts potentially reaching 30 mph.

It’s supposed to be in the 50s in Buffalo on Sunday, so it will be raining as opposed to snowing. Unfortunately, Kevin Roth believes there could be some heavy rain which would likely lead to both teams taking on a run-heavy offensive approach.

Sunday: Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

UPDATE: The same storms impacting the game in Jacksonville could create some issues in Tampa Bay. Kevin Roth expects there to be rain, but it could be avoided thanks to a delay due to lightning.

There’s a chance for some scattered showers in Tampa Bay on Sunday. Current forecasts place the chance of rain at 40 percent and also project winds in the range of 10 mph.

Even though there may be rain, this should not impact any lineup decisions.

Sunday: Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles

UPDATE: Most recent forecasts indicate that this game will see light showers with the potential for no rain at all.

There’s a strong chance of rain (72 percent) in a game where we could see Cooper Rush square off with Kenny Pickett. Updates on the weather in Philadelphia will be provided as they become available, but Kevin Roth hasn’t flagged this as a game of serious concern just yet.

Sunday: Miami Dolphins at Cleveland Browns

UPDATE: The biggest issue in Cleveland this weekend will be wind. Gusts could reach over 35 mph in the second half of this game. This would certainly impact some longer throws and kicks.

Much like the situation in Buffalo, it won’t be cold enough in Cleveland for snow, but fans and players will almost certainly be dealing with some rainfall. The chance of rain currently sits at 74 percent and this is a game where both passing attacks could be hampered by the inclement weather.

Sunday: Atlanta Falcons at Washington Commanders

It’s expected to be rainy and windy in Washington for Sunday Night Football. Kevin Roth has pegged this as a situation where heavy rain could impact each team’s offensive approach.

It’s early in the week, so forecasts could change, but fantasy managers should monitor this situation.
