West Ham United manager Graham Potter has addressed growing speculation linking Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford with a move to the London Stadium.
With the January transfer window in full swing, the Hammers are exploring forward options to ease their injury crisis.
Rashford, who has struggled for game time since Ruben Amorim took over at Old Trafford, is rumored to be on the radar of several top clubs, including Juventus and AC Milan. The England international has scored seven goals this season but has not featured for United since December 12.
Reports suggest this is due to underwhelming performances in training and a perceived lack of focus. While United’s preference appears to be to send Rashford abroad, West Ham’s interest could turn the tide.
Potter keeps options open amid injury crisis as Rashford’s future remains uncertain
Speaking to reporters, Potter acknowledged the club’s need for reinforcements, especially with forwards Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen, and Niclas Fullkrug sidelined due to injuries.
“We need to assess where we are,” Potter said. “If we can find anyone to help us, we’ll look into it. But I only comment on players who are West Ham players.”
Potter confirmed the severity of Fullkrug’s hamstring injury, describing it as “a blow for us.” He also hinted at possible moves in the market but avoided confirming or denying specific transfer targets like Rashford.
Rashford has turned down offers from Saudi Arabia and Turkey, signalling his desire to stay in a major European league during what should in theory be the prime of his career.
