The Boston Celtics just lost another game in an embarrassing fashion to the Sacramento Kings at home, and now, it might be time for the Celtics to shake things up. A perfect wake up call would be a trade, and this proposed trade target has been an idea for a while now: Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler. The trade would look like this:
Celtics get: Walker Kessler
Jazz get: Jaden Springer, 2025 protected first-rounder, 2026 second-rounder
So far this season, Kessler averages 30 minutes a game, and averages 11 points, 11 rebounds, and two and a half blocks per game. He is also fighting for minutes in a big man heavy roster, so he could honestly play more minutes for a team like the C’s.
Kessler has been getting shopped by the Jazz for a while, and this trade works for both sides. The Jazz get a young guard with potential, more picks to use for their rebuild, and offload one of their big men.
As for the C’s, they get a big man who can play in Kessler. He would relieve Tatum of being the primary rebounder, and also provides a ton of rim protection, locking down the middle. This allows the other four on the court to jack up threes and have him grab rebounds and kick it out.
As for where he goes, everyone would shift over to their originally drafted positions, and Jrue Holiday or Derrick White would come off the bench.
Hopefully the Celtics consider this trade, because they need to change something up and quick, otherwise their chances of going back-to-back are going down the drain.
