Manchester United are closing in on their first senior signing under new head coach Ruben Amorim. Danish left-back Patrick Dorgu is set to complete his move from Lecce, with a medical scheduled for Thursday, according to widespread reports.
If all goes smoothly, he could be part of the squad for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace. The 20-year-old has been a standout performer in Serie A this season, making 23 appearances and scoring three goals.

United have agreed to pay Lecce €30 million upfront, with an additional €5 million in potential add-ons. Personal terms have already been finalized, making the deal all but official.
With Luke Shaw still working his way back from injury and Tyrell Malacia linked with a loan move to Real Betis, Dorgu’s arrival could be key for United’s defensive setup.
Will Dorgu make his Man Utd debut vs Crystal Palace?
Dorgu is match-fit, having played regularly for Lecce this season. However, it remains to be seen if Amorim will throw him straight into action.
A starting spot may be unlikely, but he could be named on the bench and make his debut as a substitute.
United’s left-back position has been a weak spot this season, with makeshift solutions failing to impress. That’s why Amorim has pushed for Dorgu’s signing as a long-term fix. His attacking ability and defensive stability make him a valuable addition to the squad.
If his paperwork is completed in time, Sunday’s game could be his first chance to showcase his talent at Old Trafford.
