The Boston Celtics had a major scare during the first game of their series against the Orlando Magic. Jayson Tatum was subject to a flagrant 1 foul during a layup and suffered a wrist injury as a result. Tatum came out of the clash holding his wrist and missed both the free throws, suggesting something was wrong.
He has since undergone an X-ray, and the report suggests there isn’t any fracture. However, Tatum remains an injury doubt due to a bone bruise for the second game of the series against the Orlando Magic. For those unversed, the Celtics won 103-86.
Tatum scored 17 points during the game as well as 14 rebounds. He shot 8-22 overall with 1-8 from behind the 3-point arc. Tatum also managed four assists during the game. Boston Celtics’ consensus best player, though, is a doubt for the second game of the series due to his wrist issue.

The Celtics will host the second game of the first-round series against the Orlando Magic. Apart from Tatum, another Celtics forward, Jaylen Brown, has been suffering from injury issues. He injured his knee earlier in the campaign and is yet to recover fully.
Both Tatum and Brown are crucial for the Celtics as they aim for a second consecutive championship.

Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla, meanwhile, provided an update on Jayson Tatum’s fitness, saying: “He was able to do some stuff. He was sore after the game, has gotten a little bit better today. He was able to go through some on-court work and we’ll go from there.”
