Mutations are one of the fun elements of Grow a Garden that keep me playing the game. I love the curious part of discovering new ones and stacking them on my crops. Luckily, the Summer Update has brought in more mutations, and two of them are pretty technical to obtain. But don’t worry, as your friendly gardener is here to help. In this guide, learn how to get the Verdant and Paradisal mutations in Grow a Garden, along with their selling multipliers, and whether they’re worth the grind.

Get from Scarlet Macaw’s passive

To get the Verdant mutation in Grow a Garden, you will need the Scarlet Macaw. To get one, go to the Pet Egg shop and purchase the Paradise Egg. It has a rare chance of showing up in the shop and will cost you 50,000,000 Sheckles.

Once you have the egg, you will have an 8% chance to hatch the legendary Scarlet Macaw. It has a passive ability to apply the Verdant mutation on a random crop every 11.48 minutes. However, its attempts to create a mutation can fail, as the Macaw only has a 16.25% chance of applying the Verdant mutation.

Get from Combining Verdant and Sundried mutations

Obtaining the Paradisal mutation takes a bit more effort than most other mutations in the game. To begin with, your crop must have either the Verdant or Sundried mutations. If the Scarlet Macaw has already applied the Verdant mutation to one of your crops, you can use the Tanning Mirror near that plant. This will reflect sunlight and apply the Sundried mutation.

When both Verdant and Sundried are present on the same crop, they combine to create the Paradisal mutation. It works similarly to how the Wet mutation turns into Frozen in a winter weather event.

Should You Get Scarlet Macaw Pet to Get These Mutations?

Scarlet Macaw is one of the rarest pets you can get in the Grow a Garden Summer Update. Despite being such a rare pet, it has a limited chance of applying a mutation to a random crop. On top of that, the time it takes to apply the mutation is also high.

If you compare it to pets like the Raccoon or Dragonfly, they’re far more useful and efficient. So, if you’re still thinking of going for this pet, don’t. Even the mutation price multipliers don’t justify the grind it takes to get this rare summer pet.

The Verdant mutation only gives a 4x multiplier, while the Paradisal mutation goes up to 18x. That’s still way too low, considering how much time it takes to get a Paradise Egg and hatch a Scarlet Macaw from it.

And that is how you can get the Verdant and Paradisal mutations in Grow a Garden. Do you think it is a worthy mutation in Grow a Garden? Share your opinions in the comments.
