If you hear a bell while driving around, the Traveling Merchant just spawned in Dig, and it might be your only shot at that shiny Prismatic shovel and the Cauldron charm. This elusive NPC doesn’t stay put at one location for long, but what it brings can make your digging experience much better. From top-tier shovels to useful charms, the stock changes fast and disappears even faster. So, in this Dig Traveling Merchant guide, learn everything about how this mechanic works.

How Does the Traveling Merchant Work in Dig?

The Traveling Merchant is a mobile NPC in Dig Roblox who appears periodically at set locations around the map. Whenever the merchant relocates, a bell chimes and an announcement reveals its new spot. The merchant will stay in that location for 10 minutes, then vanish and reappear in another Dig location.

To locate the merchant, look for the red text saying, “Traveling Merchant” on your screen. You can buy exclusive charms and shovels from the merchant using in-game money.

When you spot the Traveling Merchant, walk up to the NPC and press the E key to open the shop. The shop will show one featured item and two basic items with their prices and stats. Then, click the purchase button to buy it.

Before purchasing, you can click the ‘i’ button to check the stats of the items. These items have a limited stock, so if you want something, you’d better hurry. If you’re not happy with the selection, you can reroll the merchant’s stock for 45 Robux.
