A new Warzone season is on the way, with Season 5 set to bring game-changing updates, new weapons, Operators, and more.
Season 4 Reloaded is in full swing after reintroducing Ranked Resurgence and bringing collabs with popular cartoons Beavis and Butt-Head and American Dad, and there’s more to look forward to ahead of Black Ops 7.
Season 5 is up next, and we already have an idea of when it’s going to start and what to expect, including the return of a classic SMG, so here’s everything we know.

Warzone Season 5 start date
The Warzone Season 5 update is set to arrive on Thursday, August 7, 2025. This is when the Season 4 Battle Pass expires, and new CoD seasons always start the same day the previous one ended.
However, we don’t have an official start date yet, so there’s always a chance the devs change the date.
Verdansk map changes leaked
According to reliable dataminer Reality, the Verdansk Stadium will open with the Season 5 update. This also happened five years ago in the Modern Warfare Season 5 update, so we could see a bit of a throwback season.

The leaker also said that an Easter egg will come to Verdansk with the same update. Back in the original Verdansk, there were locked rooms around the Stadium you could open with keycards and codes.
There are a couple of Easter Eggs in the game already, including Bunker 11 and the Overlook safe room.
Leaked weapons
It wouldn’t be a new CoD season without new weapons, and reality has also leaked a few ahead of Season 5. The standout edition is the MP40’s return – a fan-favorite Call of Duty weapon that has appeared in several iterations.

There are also a couple of melee weapons, Boxing Gloves and a Chainsaw, as well as a special weapon called a ‘Wand’ in the game files. This could be a literal wand for an event (or not, who knows?) or perhaps it’s a codename for something like a ballistic knife.
It’s also worth noting that there’s a chance these weapons will arrive in the mid-season update, Season 6, or maybe even Black Ops 7.

Other than what’s been leaked, CoD seasons always follow a very similar pattern, so you can expect the following:

Over on Black Ops 6, the Season 5 update is confirmed to bring the final Zombies map. We don’t know much about it, but thanks to the Shattered Veil Easter egg, we know it’s set in Janus Towers.
