Manchester United have stepped on the gas in the chase for a new striker.

According to multiple reports (via BBC), the Red Devils have made a formal bid worth €85 million (£73.8m) for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko. The package includes a guaranteed €75m, with €10m in add-ons.

The 22-year-old Slovenian has been a top target for United this summer. And after months of talks and scouting, the Premier League giants have finally made their move.

Leipzig have not responded yet, but inside sources say the club believes Sesko wants to join.

That’s big news in a summer where United are rebuilding their attack under Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s new vision. They’ve already brought in Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, and now Sesko could be the final piece.

If the deal goes through, Rasmus Hojlund could be the one heading for the exit, making room for the towering Leipzig forward.

Newcastle United are also in the mix. Their bid, reportedly €80m, is slightly lower than United’s.

With Alexander Isak possibly leaving, the Magpies are keen to land a new frontman too. But United’s offer shows they mean business — and aren’t afraid to roll the dice.

How Benjamin Sesko could fit in Man United squad?

At 6ft 5in, Sesko brings more than just height. He scored 21 goals last season and 39 overall in 87 matches for Leipzig.

He’s quick, strong, and not shy to shoot from anywhere. Some fans are already calling him a “baby Haaland” — and while those are big boots to fill, the potential is clear.

Sesko’s style could suit United’s fast-paced game. He loves to attack space, can finish with both feet, and is a constant aerial threat.

If the move goes through, he could lead the line while players like Cunha and Mbeumo offer support out wide.

The big question now is — will Leipzig accept the bid? And if they do, can Sesko handle the pressure at one of football’s biggest clubs?
